A new spot on the Dead Sea health circuit recently opened up, and, even though it’s not actually in the Dead Sea, it might well be worth checking out on your trip to Israel.
If you are thinking of staying in Sinai (just down the road from the Dead Sea of course), and are keen to try some of that magical Dead Sea spirit to ease those skin ailments or creaking joints, then head over to the Taba Heights resort, close to the border with Israel. The Taba Heights recently opened a new salt cave, which is open to all those staying at the hotel.
I don’t think there are any actual salt caves in the Dead Sea area (or at least those specifically for tourists looking for a genuine health kick), and it has nothing to do with the world famous Dead Sea scrolls that were found in a cave in the Dead Sea…
This particular salt cave is aimed at easing a lot of ailments that the Dead Sea is renowned for helping with, such as dermatological diseases, nervous system disorders, metabolic disturbances, digestive tract problems, underproduction of hyperthyroidism, heart disease and illnesses of the respiratory tract.
That’s a serious list of ailments, but apparently, the salt cave will be a fun experience – aiming to have a positive influence on everybody’s mood and wellbeing, while revitalising the
parts others can’t reach…
The salt being used is genuine Dead Sea salt, while the cave air is being pumped full of enriching minerals, so don’t worry about falling for a fake Dead Sea experience. Not quite the real thing we love to promote on this site, but better this than no Dead Sea experience whatsover…

Looks good, maybe when the heat wave is over I will go for a visit.
This blog is just great, amazing photos and very informative!
I dont know if you have heard but the dead sea is also one of the finalists in the new 7 world wonders contest, and in order to celebrate the nomination there’s a new website: http://www.votedeadsea.com and a facebook group that keeps you posted: facebook.com/votedeadsea
I have posted your blog to the group on facebook, you are welcome to join the community and share you knowledge with the other users
